Basically I recorded every thing I said for 24 hours, transcribed it and plotted it. I set the text in Akzidenz Grotesk because it is a very sterile sans serif and it is a breath of fresh air from Helvetica. Thus setting everything on a neutral playing field with minimal implied meaning. From there I changed the style of the font to imply how I had said the phrase in the moment. For example I would bold the type if I were yelling etc. It’s on 18” x 24” because of the sheer mass of data. I set the average size of the text to 8pt and that was my benchmark for size. I really did not look into colour for this piece because it would be in a sense arbitrary or just too much because just by changing the type style adds chaos. After the critique I agree with the consensus and added colour to indicate what is not spoken on the poster. When it all comes down to it, this visualization shows how I speak depending on my location and setting.
